The real issue, though, is rectal cancer.  The surgeon found a grapefruit size mass that had attached to her pelvis and her colon. She has been bed-ridden because of the fever for practically the last 2 weeks.Saturday (11/18/06), she went to the hospital.  A CAT scan did not find anything wrong with her digestive tract, but there appears to be some type of infection in the abdomen.
