Thursday 12/7

Sue is recovering from the surgery, even came by the office after a doctor's visit on Tuesday!

She goes to the oncologist on Monday 12/11 for evaluation and more testing. Please keep not only Sue and family in prayer, but the doctor(s) who will evaluate and make recommendations for Sue's treatment

Thurs AM

Sue finally got to go home Wednesday! It took all day for the doctors to make their final "inspection" and get all the IV's unhooked, but she's home. Sue and Brad are studying the options for treating the tumor.

Monday PM

Good news - Sue has started on "thick liquids" (as opposed to clear liquids) and is off the IV pain killers. Dr. thinks she should be able to go home as early as Wednesday (11/29)!

Saturday Evening

Sue looks better tonight. The tubes have been removed, but she still has IV's hooked up for antibiotics and nourishment. She's getting up to walk around the halls 3 times a day. Dr's still have some other tests to run to make sure everything else is okay.

Please keep Sue, Brad and family in your prayers!

Thursday PM

Visited with Sue and Brad at the Hospital; Sue is recovering from the surgery and should start eating in another day or two.

Sue did have a problem with her colon that did require removal of a portion of it. The real issue, though, is rectal cancer. The surgeon found a grapefruit size mass that had attached to her pelvis and her colon. Apparently, it was the attachment to the colon that caused a perforation and subsequent symptoms.

They were not able to remove the growth at this time. Sue and Brad are considering the options. One of Sue's doctors did say that rectal cancer does respond very well to radiation and chemotherapy (without the extreme side effects that we all associate with chemo). The cancerous growth has to be reduced in size (hence the chemo and radiation therapy) before it can be removed.

Please keep praying for Sue, Brad, and all the Becker family. Sue will be in the hospital for a week or two just to recover from the surgery. They still have to figure out what course of treatment to follow, and where to go to receive it.

If you'd like to send her a message, please send it through our Customer Support Center at (click on link at right). When Sue is able to work on e-mail, she can access the Support Center from anywhere.

Wednesday Morning

Surgery for Sue has been scheduled for Wednesday (11/22/06) afternoon, around 4PM +/-. Doctor "suspects" ulcerative colitis; Sue will need a week or two in the hospital after surgery, then she can go home.

Please keep Sue in your prayers.

Update on Sue

Sue has been fighting some type of infection & fever for several weeks (possibly from parasites picked up during past travels). She has been bed-ridden because of the fever for practically the last 2 weeks.

Saturday (11/18/06), she went to the hospital. A CAT scan did not find anything wrong with her digestive tract, but there appears to be some type of infection in the abdomen. They're trying to figure exactly what it is today. She's on an IV for antibiotics, and pain.

Please keep Sue in your prayers, that God would give her doctors the wisdom to get this figured out, and that He will strengthen and encourage Brad, Sue and the whole family as He heals her!
